Zombies Postponed

Winter is upon us and it’s screwing my production schedule! My zombie film will be pushed to sometime in March, when the trees are still creepy and leafless and my zombies won’t be freezing their asses off, in need to winter coats (that be very UN-zombielike).

On the bright side – we moved our set piece to the location. I’m shooting this film in Jersey at a family member’s house. The film focuses on 3 friends getting stranded on top of a playground set and surrounded by zombies – one of those towers kids play on with a slide. This kind of location is near impossible to get permits for in NYC because of park laws (which protects kids and are good thing regardless of their impediment on indie filmmaking).

So I’m going to Jersey and undercutting the system all together by shooting on private property. Lindsay, my lovely producer and partner in crime, found an awesome swing set on Craigslist and we spent last Saturday, with the help of my dad, taking the thing down and transporting it. Indie filmmaking at its finest – a full family affair.

So here my set will sleep --- waiting for winter to pass and production to begin…
